Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Coaching is the means by which the client is guided and helped with solving problems, making changes to their lives and therefore living a more fulfilled life.

Where does coaching take place?

Coaching is held at a mutually convenient location. This could be the park, the coffee shop or the boardroom provided social distancing measures are maintained.

Will coaching work for me?

Your coach is there to guide you and cannot solve your problems. Your coach will explore the various issues that you may face with you but cannot give you the answers. Coaching is about YOU and how YOU look  for solutions with your coach.

What is the impact of coaching?

Changed life skills, changed outlook, being positive and impacting your business and those around you.

What is a contract and why does one have to be drawn up?

A contract is in the interest of both parties. The contract explains expectations, sets boundaries and acts to protect those engaged in coaching.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. All coaching is confidential. If coaching is conducted because a company has employed a coach for staff, there will be feedback to Human Resources but only with the coachee's permission.

What if there are safeguarding concerns?

All safeguarding concerns have to be reported to the authorities as the coach has a duty of care and has to act within the law.

Can the coach signpost me to another professional if necessary?

Yes. If the coach feels that there are difficulties that fall outside of their remit, the coach will signpost to other relevant services.

How does Covid-19 affect coaching practice?

Government guidelines are followed. 1:1 Face to Face coaching takes place following the 2m social distancing rule whether in the park or in the coffee shop. Coachees are welcome to wear masks should they feel more comfortable doing so. Corporate training is currently only online.
